Running a Content Rewards campaign
Content Rewards lets a brand pay for views instead of paying for posts. You fund a budget, set a rate per 1,000 views, cap what one video can earn, pick the platforms and write the rules. Creators submit; you approve or reject; approved clips are paid automatically from the budget. Unapproved submissions left for 48 hours auto-approve if Whop's review AI finds nothing wrong.
What you configure
| Budget | The brand funds a total campaign budget up front and can top it up at any time. |
|---|---|
| Reward rate | Set by the brand as a reward rate per 1,000 views. |
| Minimum payout | Brands set a minimum payout threshold to keep low-view submissions out of the review queue. Whop's own example: a $3 rate with a $6 minimum means a video needs 2,000 views before it enters review. |
| Maximum payout | Brands cap the maximum a single video can earn, to protect the campaign budget. Earnings on that video stop at the cap even if views keep climbing. |
| Platforms | TikTok, YouTube Shorts, Instagram Reels and X, selected per campaign by the brand. |
| Content guidelines | What footage creators may use, what they must include, what is banned. |
The two settings that control your spend
The minimum payout is a filter on your own review queue as much as on payouts — Brands set a minimum payout threshold to keep low-view submissions out of the review queue. Whop's own example: a $3 rate with a $6 minimum means a video needs 2,000 views before it enters review. Set it too high and good creators walk; set it at zero and you will review hundreds of 200-view clips.
The maximum payout is your protection against one viral clip consuming the budget: Brands cap the maximum a single video can earn, to protect the campaign budget. Earnings on that video stop at the cap even if views keep climbing.
Approval and fraud
The brand reviews each submission and approves or rejects it. If a submission is not actioned within 48 hours and Whop's review AI has flagged it as legitimate, it is approved automatically. Whop's review AI flags suspicious submissions; brands can reject them. In practice that means you need a review rhythm — a queue checked daily — or the 48-hour rule will approve submissions on your behalf.
What it costs beyond the budget
Whop's published fee schedule does not list a separate Content Rewards fee for brands; the budget is funded from your Whop balance and the platform's normal payment and payout fees apply. The full schedule, with the payout rates that apply when money leaves, is on our partner site: Whop fees explained.
When it works and when it does not
- Works when you have a back catalogue of watchable long-form content and a product a clip can send someone to.
- Works when you would otherwise be buying views — you are paying a similar price for views that arrive with a human recommendation attached.
- Does not work with no source footage. Clippers need something to cut.
- Does not work if you cannot review submissions. The auto-approval rule is not a substitute for someone deciding what represents the brand.
